Every item we sell is hand-cut from whole hides, hand finished and hand saddle stitched.
A saddle stitch is done using two needles working from both sides of the leather. Each thread alternates back and forth between the front and back of the piece and is pulled all the way through each and every hole in a way that is impossible to do using a machine.
Because the threads are pulled all the way through the piece for every stitch they cannot be unraveled by pulling a loose end. If a thread breaks all of the other stitches will remain just as strong.
